Pacientes com diagnóstico estabelecido de estrias angioides são mais suscetíveis à ruptura da coroide e devem ser encorajados a usar proteção ocular rígida para evitar trauma contuso acidental no olho que pode causar ruptura da coroide e múltiplos sangramentos sub-retinianos, especialmente durante a participação em esportes com bola.
